Once you have qualified, Domestic Energy Assessors in the UK can start their own DEA business and source their own work, be employed by a Home Information Pack (HIPs) provider or work on a self-employed basis with an EPC panel management company, such as Energy Assessor College’s associated company Energy Assessments Direct.

After successful completion of one of our Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) courses and following accreditation you will be invited to join Energy Assessments Direct and potentially be provided with assessments on a self-employed basis. Energy Assessments Direct aims to gain a substantial share of the national Energy Assessment market providing Estate Agents, Conveyancing Professionals, Solicitors, HIPs Providers, New Home Builders, Local Authorities, Private Landlords and Home Owners with the most skilled and best trained commercial and domestic energy assessors in the UK.

Due to Energy Assessor College’s demanding selection process and training program, only those trained through one of our DEA courses are invited to join Energy Assessments Direct.

Domestic Energy Assessor’s Potential Income

What is the potential earning power of domestic energy assessors? UK estimates by Energy Assessor College show that an experienced DEA will be able to carry out between ten and fifteen EPCs in a week depending on the property size.

Current professional fees for Domestic Energy Assessors range from £50 to £120 for a completed EPC (fee scale is based on property size). A minimum of ten EPCs each week on average size properties with an average fee income of £85 would generate a gross fee income of up to £850 per week or up to £44,000 per year. Operating costs are likely to be minimal and consist mainly of travel costs. More information is given about this at interview stage.
